I am Mrs Swati Ghosh. I look forward to welcoming my bunch of fifth graders. I am sure we will have an enjoyable and progressive year!
The beginning of the school day
Children should enter the school gates latest by 8.25 am and assemble for morning prayer, where I shall be waiting for them.
At the classroom, I expect children to be responsible for their own possessions. They will organise their cubby holes and cupboards with their lunch boxes and water bottles and their notebooks and text books.
I expect children to misplace their belongings occasionally, therefore, I recommend that all their personal belongings ( including shoes) are tagged, so that it is easier for things to be traced.
If children need to carry money to School, it should be in a labelled envelope and stapled to their Almanac with a note to me specifying the purpose. I do not encourage children carrying money to buy anything from the canteen, other than their lunch.
At the end of the day
The children will leave our classroom and board the bus at the bus bay or meet their parent at the front gate of the School, occasionally accompanied by me. Please note that it is not a requirement that children of this age be handed over directly to their guardians by the teacher.
Home- work policy
The home work is designed to support your child's development and it will be hugely beneficial if you can encourage and supervise your child while at task. The home works are essentially an extension of the learning done in class, in the form of recap. We will be following a home work schedule which will be intimidated to you at a later stage .The children should therefore note down the home work in their Almanac. Failure to complete the home work is not be acceptable to me.
Behaviour
There is zero tolerance for teasing and bullying and will be dealt with very strictly. I have loads of activities planned for children if they finish their work before time. The children should always have a book to read or any other activity book in their school bags. They are not allowed to bring any games into the class ( e.g., Uno cards).
I look forward to this exciting year ahead!
Mrs. Swati Ghosh
