Parents are requested to meet the class teachers on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, after 12.30 p.m. They can set up an appointment by calling the school office or access the teacher via e-mail on the school website. 5

4What is the school's policy on taking leave during the academic session?
The school will permit students to take leave during an academic session only if there is a matter of great importance. In such a situation, parents should send in a leave note to the class teacher and the Principal.5
In case of illnesses, please send a copy of the doctor's certificate along with the leave request letter.5
4How will the school assess my child's performance during a term?
The class teacher assesses all the work done in class and also conducts tests in the form of worksheets. The assessment is tabulated as per the norms set down by the academic dept. and a grade is assigned.5
The students will not be told that they are writing a test, as that causes unnecessary stress. Further the teacher would like to judge the efficacy of her teaching module through tests conducted unobtrusively.5
4What is the school's policy on homework?
It is a great pity that children should waste quality time they have with their parents and friends on account of homework. Homework is after all remedial and drill activities that should be done under the supervision of the teacher. This serves a dual purpose of
a) Immediate discovery of a potential problem
b) It·s remedy through the teacher's intervention, so that, the child understands the remedy in the correct context.
Therefore all homework at Deen·s will be achieved within a stipulated homework period under the supervision of the class teacher.5
4What if my child requires some extra work to improve his/her performance?
Not every child has makes similar strides in his/her class performance and may require some extra remedial work. The teacher will counsel the parents regarding this and work on a strategy that best suits the child with the help of the parents.5
4Will my child carry a heavy bag to school?
All school books will stay in class and will be sent home periodically for the parents to see. At any point in time the child carries to school:
a) a water bottle
b) his/her school diary
c) a file containing his/her work on - Friday.5
4How approachable are the members of the school management committee?
The members of the school management committee are present at school for the benefit of the parent and student community. It will be their pleasure to meet and clarify any points of concern that the parents may have.5
4Is there a Bus transport system in place to take the children to the school?
The DEEN Academy has provided buses with a carefully selected driver, an assistant and a Matron in each bus to ensure that the kids are safe.5
4What are the school timing and do you have classes on Saturdays?
Toddlers to UKG ›› 9 am to 12.15 pm Monday to Friday
Grade 1 and 2 ›› 9 am to 02.15 pm Monday to Friday
There will be no classes on Saturdays.5
4When are the classes going to start?
The DEEN'S Academy will have a grand opening ceremony on 11 June 2006 (Sunday).
You and your friends are invited to come with your children.
The program starts at 10:30 am and will end by 12:30 pm.
Classes for all age groups will commence on June 14, 2006.5
4What are the holidays provided?
The Deen's Academy classes are on all days of the week except Saturdays & Sundays and National Holidays. A list of Holidays is provided in the Almanac.5
4Is there specific school uniform?
There is no school uniform for this year. We will have a summer, winter and sports uniforms from next year. The school will provide two sets of the summer uniform (included in the fees).5
4Will the school premises be shifted?
No. The school is large enough to accommodate the structure upto grade 12 as per CBSE norms.5
