Mock Fire Drills and Emergency Evacuation plans
Safety and Emergency Preparedness at Deens
At Deens, the safety and security of every child are accorded the highest priority. To ensure readiness for any unforeseen circumstances, structured mock drills are conducted at regular intervals in accordance with established protocols.
Each classroom is equipped with an emergency folder, containing the complete class list and a class placard. These are placed in clearly designated locations for immediate accessibility in the event of an emergency. During evacuation, class monitors are entrusted with the responsibility of carrying the folder. All classes are required to assemble at the designated assembly point, where class monitors mark attendance to verify that every student is accounted for. Daily absentees are duly noted in the folder.
Each Segment Head also maintains a master copy of the emergency folders for all classes within her segment and is required to carry the same upon the sounding of the emergency bell. Students attending lessons at venues other than their designated classrooms proceed directly to the assigned assembly points and are strictly prohibited from returning to their classrooms during an evacuation.
Mock drills are systematically timed to ensure that all evacuations are executed promptly and in full compliance with established guidelines.
At the commencement of each academic year, specific teachers are designated as floor in-charges. In parallel, support staff are trained to ensure that all washrooms and rooms on their respective floors are thoroughly checked before evacuation is completed.
The Student Council plays an integral role in both the planning and execution of these drills. Council members are assigned defined roles, responsibilities, and positions, which they assume immediately upon the sounding of the emergency bell.
In teh event of an emergency closure of the school, a mail will be sent to all parents and a message will be inserted in transport related Watsapp groups. Parents are requested to disseminate information to other parents, to support teh School.
